Sown the last of mine today. Realised I have absolutely no idea if they cross. Would like to save some. Especially as I always let them go to seed . Because the seed pod are the best bit.]]>

 That says climbing beans should be planted 10m apart to prevent crossing. I’ve never done this. They have always grown next to each other in the same bed. 
Have I been growing weird mutant beans for the last few years? The beans look the same as what I planted originally. I wouldn’t have saved them if they’d looked different.]]> https://www.beansandherbs.co.uk/unusual-...bean-seed/

While trying to work out how I was going to remove the quite tight fitting homemade net bag from my Bombay cockscomb without loosing all the seeds ( especially as they fall through the net bag with to much disturbance, I discovered     ) . I got one of the spare little metal pet food dishes. You have to have spares, you never know when or who you’re going to need to feed     . It’s a life changing, time saving little metal miracle! 
I managed to catch all the seeds that fell from the bag and plant. Also using the same dish to clean the seeds/ remove chaff was brilliant and so quick compared to how I usually do it.

I watch a video yesterday from gardener’s world Facebook. On how to choose seeds. It was very much aimed at new gardeners. It got me thinking. How do those of us that have been play in the garden for a while (years) choose seeds. Especially as (let’s be very honest     ) most of us have a slight problem (addiction) with seeds. 
I know seed saving and seed swaps and free seeds all help with our addiction. But when faced with one of those beautiful glossy seed catalogs and you want to buy seeds how do you choose?
