Building a Hugelkultur Bed

This is a totally NOT a Hugelkultur suggestion, just an idea.
If you laid the wood down in rows and filled the gaps between the rows with whatever compost/soil is available, you could plant into those rows, whilst the wood is rotting down. I use branches and logs to edge beds and they don't last very long. If they were buried and kept damp, they'd rot down much faster.
Its a sort of No-dig, Hugelkultur. Big Grin

Thanks for the insight PP. I think I may loosely follow the hugel kultur principles as I have wood, manure, compost in various stages of degradation, leaf mould grass sods from the bed area available to build up these beds.
