Having asked around Wink No 1 is a Breadcake in Yorkshire.
For me, a Bap has a soft crust, Cob has a hard crust, a Roll is shaped like a sausage and a Teacake has fruit in it.

I'd say a bap was larger in circumference than a roll, and agree a teacake has fruit, very nice toasted.

I would call the first one a 'bread bun' or if it was a bit bigger a 'stottie' Smile

Round here fish and chips are 'A fish and a bag'.

I once asked for that in Blackpool and was given a fish in a bag! Big Grin

What about in French PP?  And by the way tell OH the crust is the best bit - if fresh.

The Crust is the bit that makes your hair curl - that's how my mother persuaded us to eat it.
PP, try it on your OH. Smile

I hated my curly hair but that didn't stop my Mum making me eat crusts.
