Just out of interest Mark, did you know Handel’s Messiah was first performed in a building in Fishamble street in Dublin.

I'm a little late for A but I'll say artificial tree. Not had a real one in years. My artificial one must be at least 20 years old. And still looks very good!

B is for boughs of holly. Wouldn't be Christmas without some.

I SPY - Bells, ringing out for Christmas...............

This is the old Bell on the back of the garage wall.
Many years ago, we realised that when we were in the garden, we couldn't hear the front door bell, so missed our visitors. The solution - an outdoor bell, connected by a wire to the front of the garage. Dangling from this was a plaited leather bell rope (actually a dog's lead) and a sign that said something like "If no answer, pull Eeyore's tail" (imagine Winnie the Pooh's writing with crossings out and speeling mistooks).

Over the years, the rope rotted and I became more and more antisocial Wink. I'm also too lazy to remove the bell which still rings occasionally on a windy day. Smile
