African frog found in bag of mint after 5800 mile trip.
The unbelievable thing is.................the UK are importing Mint from Ethiopia for sale, bagged, in shops.
Surely, the UK can grow enough mint without having to import it from Africa. Everyone has room for a pot of mint.
The world's gone Bonkers. Cry

My Mother had loads of it in her garden growing wild. A gypsy came to the door flogging summat and before she left she asked if she could pick some mint. Smile Mam said take whatever you like. Huh
Gypsy was spotted at every door down the street flogging a boquet of mint extolling ts virtues and saying it cured all sorts of things! Big Grin

My Granddad used to give me bunches of mint on a Sunday and tell me to knock on Mrs Soandso's door because they always have lamb on Sundays and will need some mint for sauce. He never asked my brother to do it - always me!!

Lots of stuff comes from Africa during our winter. Spring onions from Egypt, French beans from Kenya, basil from Ethiopia. Often not in very good condition because they're things which just don't travel well.

Just checked Morries website - 30g of fresh mint from Morocco 85p. We could make a fortune if we sold mint. Vinny's Mam's gypsy and my old Grandad had the right idea. Big Grin
