I didn't pick this one but another, riper one.. Juice drippingly delicious.
Looks super delicious VC, I never knew peaches would grow here in non Mediterranean climates.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.

There were more peaches this year than previously.  They've been dug up and moved twice!
Its hard to know when to pick them - and I can't get it right. If you wait until they're ripe, they rot in a couple of days. Pick them unripe and its a gamble whether they're actually ripen. Also, the birds and squirrels are very partial to snacking on them and, once they're damaged they deteriorate rapidly. I've just put organza bags over the last few to see if that helps.
I have 3 trees but I probably wouldn't plant another one.

Picked the first Chinese slangen cucumber, it was bitter and tasted horrid, if a second tastes like that I'll be pulling it up, I've enough cucs as it is with konsa and Beth Alpha.

Also picked the first tromba.

Second slangen was bitter too. As they were both near the base of the plant and the pundits recommend taking those fruit off ( long before I did) perhaps the lower fruit are susceptible to bitterness. It has one more chance, if a fruit from the upper part is bitter its in the compost.

I grew Slangen cucs  just the once,  they had the same bitter taste so I threw out the remaining seeds.  I've grown Beth alpha ever since and never had a failure.

Picked my first tomato, a galina. It wasn't quite ripe but, not knowing what is tunneling under them, I will be picking regularly. One year I left a lot of galina on the plants as they keep ok like that and it saves space on the kitchen table. But when i went out to collect them, something had beaten me to it and then started on other tomato varieties.
