First 'incredible' sweetcorns yesterday. didn't eat till today and I think lost some of the sweetness. Also they were not quite ready. They are right next to some hazel trees and I think great danger from squirrels but no damage so far. In the last few years they have been got at by rats and blue tits. Hopefully the birds are being distracted by the sunflowers.

Picked first aubergine and likely only one. 5 plants ravaged by red spider mite. I'll be ready for the blighters next year.
