Coldframe - Broadway - 19-03-2021

Cobbled a temporary coldframe together today.

Cardboard, pallet collar, 4 GH panes, a brick, and some scaffold netting. The netting is just for overnight, not sure if it will help.

The glass will need another clean.

That looks great! I would like some tables or something to have a halfway house from my greenhouse to the garden. There's always a huge pile of plants all around the greenhouse doors.

I inherited some of those pallet collars on my plot.I also inherited some double glazed panels seperately that fit over them.

Last year I sowed my sweetcorn direct into one bed and placed a glazed panel over until they had germinated in a very similar fashion to your 'cold frame'.

A handy bit of kit I may use again this year.

Cold frame is a good use for them.

That does look handy Danny.

Looks excellent Danny. I had cold frames before that I used old shower panels on top they were brilliant and I could prop them open for some air.

This year I won't be using a coldframe nor hardening of the plants, I will be planting them out then covering them with 30g horticultural fleece

I'm not that quick at planting out...so when things get a bit busy inside I Chuck them outside the door and they sit there until I prepare the ground ready for their new homes.
