Fruity signs of life - 2021 - Veggie - 02-03-2021 Having spotted blossom on one of the peach trees, I've done a quick look at the other fruit trees and bushes for signs of life. ![]() Green leaf buds on:- Blackcurrant Jostaberry Quince tree Raspberries No sign of life on :- Apples Pears Plums Medlar Do you want to add your progress here? I’m guessing there’s some buds high up on the fruit trees as Mr & Mrs bullfinch are eating something. The new tayberry, whilst looking small and a little sorry for itself is sprouting from the base. The blackberry thug is thinking about it. Gooseberries are popping, rhubarb is shooting. The one I left in its pot and thought would never do much, the apricot, has even decided to try for a few blossom this year after I remembered to shift it into the GH. I'm so glad you listened to me (you may be the only one who does ![]() I'm still waiting to see an apricot flower on either the standard one which must be about 5 years old or the 2 or is it 4 little ones like yours! It flowered for the first time last year but there were no fruits, masses of blossom this year, so, fingers crossed for pollination. I just hope this frosty weather doesn't affect fruit set? |
