Another new kid on the block, well to me anywaySmile

Veggie, I assume you haven't eaten the "Three cornered leeks"??

RE: Do you know your onions? - Veggie - 26-01-2021

Yes, I eat the Three cornered leeks but I don[t recommend planting them except in a container as they spread easily.

I just had a google of the three cornered leeks. I like the look of them. Definitely one for pot growing.

If they weren't invasive, they're worth growing. The flowers are lovely - like white bluebells. The leaves are usable throughout winter when there's not much else. They're like spring onions.
I made a mistake by planting them as I hadn't realised at the time how much they spread. I dig up clumps of them now, eat the leaves and burn the roots (NOT in the compost!). Also mow off the flowers before they set seed.
Such a shame as, otherwise, they have everything going for them.

Foiled by a three cornered leek! Big Grin  Never heard of the darn things! Rolleyes Apparently, on reading up on them, its an offence to grow this in the wild as its so invasive. Cry
