Seeds available too on a swap/donate/pay it forward basis.
I've received some Purple kale seeds from the Scottish Forest Garden that I'm hoping to cross with my green perennial kales. Who knows what I'll grow!!

They are:-
Purple kale tree (PKT)
Son of PKT
Nero di Toscana x PKT
Deep Purple
Kalettes (I'm determined to grow these!).
Sowed 8 seeds of each of these purple kales to inject some colour into my kale forest. Smile

Hi Veggie

I wondered how your walking stick jersey was doing? I have some Couve Galega (Portuguese Walking Stick Cabbage), about 4inches now sitting on the windowsill, wasn't sure whether to pot on or plant out?

RE: An Alphabet of Kales (almost). - Veggie - 11-03-2021

No idea how mine are - not even sure where they are!! In a GH but its too wet and windy to hang around in a GH at the moment. They're certainly not 4" high.

The evenings are long and dark now so I've been revisiting my Kale seeds. Including odd things like Portuguese cabbage and Perennial cauliflowers, I have 65 different varieties.
Of my early sowings last year, some survived and are dotted around the garden - but I have no idea what they are!
I do like Kale plants - they have character, different leaf shapes, flat or curly, different colours from green to red to purple and a variety of stem colours to contrast with the leaves.
Must sow more soon.

[attachment=5625]This is the perennial kale that you have seeds of - must be about 6 years old now.

[attachment=5624] I'll be turning these sideshoots into cuttings soon.
