Have you noticed how American gardeners call "soil" ......."Dirt". Irritates me no end. Seems so dismissive.

.........and on a lighter note, older listeners may remember Arthur Fallowfield whose answer to everything was "I think the answer lies in the soil". Wink

Soil only becomes 'dirt' when you get it on your hands and knees. Big Grin

Thanks for that Vinny, very interesting to watch, after reading how they made the soil for the Eden project I thought that I would give it a try by mixing homemade compost, course sand, seaweed and some cow manure I got good results from growing trombos and courgette, I then moved it into the greenhouse where this year I have had what must be my best harvest of tomatoes ever, so intending trying it again
