Love your soil. - Vinny - 04-12-2020 Here's a little clip I found quite interesting showing how amazing soil is:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/ideas/videos/why-soil-is-one-of-the-most-amazing-things-on-eart/p090cf64 RE: Love your soil. - Veggie - 04-12-2020 Thanks Vinny - amazing!! Have you noticed how American gardeners call "soil" ......."Dirt". Irritates me no end. Seems so dismissive. .........and on a lighter note, older listeners may remember Arthur Fallowfield whose answer to everything was "I think the answer lies in the soil". RE: Love your soil. - Bren - 04-12-2020 Just goes to show how we take soil for granted. RE: Love your soil. - Spec - 04-12-2020 Thanks for that Vinny, very interesting to watch, after reading how they made the soil for the Eden project I thought that I would give it a try by mixing homemade compost, course sand, seaweed and some cow manure I got good results from growing trombos and courgette, I then moved it into the greenhouse where this year I have had what must be my best harvest of tomatoes ever, so intending trying it again |
