Beth alpha - Small chilli - 21-05-2020 I know she’s a very popular variety and lots of you grow her. Do we pinch out side shoots or let her do her own thing? RE: Beth alpha - Veggie - 21-05-2020 I leave her to her own devices - I trust her to behave like a lady! RE: Beth alpha - Bren - 21-05-2020 I pinch out a couple leaves after the first cuc leaving the main stem to grow up and along the ridge. Love how we all do things differently RE: Beth alpha - JJB - 21-05-2020 Thanks for asking that SC, I'm growing Beth alpha for the first time this year, I will have to consider what to with her as she grows. RE: Beth alpha - JJB - 12-06-2020 I have been very jealous of the reports of other people eating cucumbers already. I can now report that my Beth Alpha in the GH has a baby, she gave birth entirely on her own without me knowing, I have a baby cucumber! . Looking at the other varieties I see they also have a few babies at last. [attachment=453] RE: Beth alpha - Bren - 12-06-2020 My baby Beth alpha is a little bit over an inch long shes shy though hiding behind a leaf RE: Beth alpha - Veggie - 12-06-2020 My Beths are little floosies. Each one is with child. Two have been taken into care (in a sandwich) already. Another one will be delivered tomorrow. RE: Beth alpha - JJB - 21-06-2023 Do I remove the male flowers from Beth Alpha, does it matter if I don't? Should there even be any male flowers? RE: Beth alpha - Veggie - 21-06-2023 Yes there are male flowers but I don't remove them. My Beth's have gone into male flower mode - not many females at the moment. Looking at 'tinternet they produce males under stress and yes they should be removed. It's mostly males that cause stress in our house |
