Peover in Cheshire

Then Hope near Llay in North Wales
and Lazy Kevin in Cefn-y-Bedd

Went to Look at a house at World's End once
in North Wales and it was a bleak, godforsaken place. Don't think we did look round the place.

Never heard that version before!!

A bit like the English pronunciation of Pull-welly. (Pwllheli) and Carefully (Caerphilly/Caerffili).

We have Splott in Cardiff. Posh people tried to change it to "Splo". Smile

I used to regularly drive past Menlove Dental Surgery at one time in Liverpool and say to myself 'they don't'.

Then I always smile in places like M&S at signs like menswear and womenswear too.

One of my favourite places to visit is the small village of Muff in County Donegal.

It has the Muff Liquor Company - https://www.themuffliquorcompany.com/
And
is also home of the one and only Muff Diving Club -https://www.muffdivingclub.ie

Wetwang Slack has an archaeological site that caused much hilarity at Uni.

When we were plot hunting down here we decided that however wonderful the plot was, we couldn't possibly live in a place called Pinas (pronouced PeeNass, emphasis on the nass).

And it is was inevitable the only tme I came off my bike was just outside the village of Bugard.

The prefectural capital in the neighbouring department to us (the Gers) is called Condom. I stayed there as a teenager on a summer holiday and when I went back to school refused to say where I'd been.

Condominium is a funny word. You can see why they call them Condos for short.
Don't think I could ever say I lived in a Condominium without laughing.Big Grin
