Storing Beets? - Broadway - 19-09-2020 Morning Folks Can I store lifted beets in spent compost? RE: Storing Beets? - Vinny - 19-09-2020 If you have already lifted them, I would say yes. If not, I usually leave them in the soil and you could cover shoulders with used compost to prevent frost getting to them. I've frozen some already so will do 50/50 freezing and storing to see what happens RE: Storing Beets? - Mikey - 19-09-2020 They pickle well Danny?, I tend to eat beets in sandwiches so don’t mind if they are simply boiled or pickled. RE: Storing Beets? - Veggie - 19-09-2020 I didn't even know freezing beetroot was something you could do! Never have any to spare as I usually pull just a few at a time to eat fresh and do a few jars of pickled beets just because I can.
