Flower ID (Blue Lupin) - Scarlet - 22-06-2020 I thought this was some kind of Vetch - but my neighbour doesn't think so. I've looked online and I think the leaves aren't right. So it's really bugging me. We go for dog walks at the fields behind us ( my neighbour has always taken ours when he does his dog walk as he no longer has a dog) so a win win for ours as they get double walks Anyway there's a crop field that has been thickly edged with this? What do you think? [attachment=538] RE: Flower ID - Veggie - 22-06-2020 Hairy vetch? https://www.cotswoldseeds.com/species/205/hairy-vetch RE: Flower ID - Scarlet - 22-06-2020 The plant is a bit wilted - but look at the leaves. All the leaves start from a central point. They don't grow along the stem? The flowers and pods are a perfect match. RE: Flower ID - Jimny14 - 22-06-2020 Leaves look a little lupin like maybe? RE: Flower ID - JJB - 22-06-2020 I think Jimny's right, it's a blue lupin grown for forage. I found it on a website but have no idea how to insert a web page in a post . RE: Flower ID - Veggie - 22-06-2020 https://www.feedipedia.org/node/24503 JJB - Copy the webpage and paste in the post. RE: Flower ID - Scarlet - 22-06-2020 Definitely lupin leaves! Thank you it is Blue lupin. I was sure it was vetch until the neighbour said - strange leaves for vetch and left the plant on my wall yesterday for me to check. He will be chuffed that I had it wrong RE: Flower ID - SarrissUK - 23-06-2020 I would've guessed vetch too Scarlet |
