Palette collars - Small chilli - 27-03-2026

I’m going to use palette collars in my bigger tunnels. Would you stack 2 to make deeper beds. Like this [attachment=8771]
Or would you just use them single hight ?

Depends on what you want to grow in them? I don't know how deep they are anyway - never been lucky enough to scrounge any.

20cm deep (8 inches)

That would be fine for salad leaves but not for carrots and other roots unless they were those little ones!. It also depends on how many collars you have.
You could always put open bottomed buckets on top of a single pallet if you wanted more depth.

I have enough for 5 doubles at moment. Which is just enough for the middle size tunnel. But hopefully collecting more on Sunday.

They look a lovely scrounge. I've never been lucky enough to get any either. I agree with Veggie, depends on what you grow. I think the buttomless bocket Smile is a good idea. Bearing in mind the double deeps will need far more filling.
