Asparagus seedlings - doublyjonah - 08-11-2025
Hi all, has anyone grown asparagus from seed? I have some small seedlings (6 to 8 inches tall) and wondering if they should go out into a bed now or be potted on and kept somewhere sheltered until spring.

I’ve grown asparagus from seed. I wouldn’t do anything to them until they have died back. Definitely don’t put them outside until next spring. Mine are 5 years old now and still in pots (larger ones). Waiting to go in their new bed. Which is still to be built.

Thanks, SC. I'll keep them at home in pots until the spring. Gives me time to get a bed ready but they won't get the premium service like yours with a whole new garden and house to boot.
