Farmyard Manure - Vinny - 01-09-2025 OK gang, I need some advice or recommentdations? I have 200 onion sets to plant imminently. I will fork over the beds I am planting them in but favour 'tickling' over the suface of the pepared beds and adding dried farmyard manure which is easy to handle, befoe planting sets. I don't want chicken based manure but prefer cow poo based manure. I used to use 6X (which is still an option) but just wondered whether you lot had good results with any propriety brand? Either a 40 litre o 50 litre would do, prefeably with free postage. I have Amason Prime which can usually fullfill my request, but the choice is enormous! RE: Farmyard Manure - Veggie - 01-09-2025 Can't help, sorry. I've never bought it. RE: Farmyard Manure - Vinny - 01-09-2025 (01-09-2025, 01:05 PM)Veggie Wrote: Can't help, sorry. The areas I had added horse muck to poduced good sized onions, but no horse muck to be had this year. In the past I have had good results with 6X manure but think they have changed the fomulae now? RE: Farmyard Manure - SarrissUK - 01-09-2025 I've never considered buying manure other than chicken manure pellets. Are there no cow or horse owners near you that want rid of their manure? I had a few on hand around where I lived in the UK, and I'm making close friends with the farmers nearby here too ![]() |
