2025 spuds - Can the Man - 09-07-2025 These were my first earlies type Solist sewn end of Feb in poly tunnel and harvested on 18th May RE: 2025 spuds - Can the Man - 09-07-2025 These followed a week later 2 buckets of them RE: 2025 spuds - Can the Man - 09-07-2025 I harvested some Wexford Queens last week grown in the poly tunnel from a few leftovers from last years that I bought from the side of the road traders. They are balls of flour, beautiful with some salty butter. RE: 2025 spuds - Mark_Riga - 21-07-2025 Just finished harvesting my early potatoes. 4 x 25ft rows one each of swift, rocket, premier and either vivaldi or vitabella not sure which. 38lb (17.2kg) rocket 22lb (10kg) swift 35lb (16.2kg) premier 31lb (13.8kg) the other. Premier were a new variety for me and the bumf said it was used by McCain for chips. It does make reasonable chips and some spuds are large enough for bakers, 250g to 350g. The first 2 roots I dug up were not very promising though. There was plenty of top growth but nothing below (just 400g. for both of them). But they were close to and underneath a tree. The rest of the row was ok.
