I don’t keep any feathered friends myself but I have regular visits from my neighbouring chickens, ducks geese and occasionally turkeys and guinea fowl.
I love when the ducks come visiting because the attack the slugs, chickens and geese are no use for the slugs, and all the geese do is walk over every thing and $hit every where. Chickens are great for getting rid of moss as they scratch in it for insects,
I know some of you keep a few chickens have you ever considered ducks, they give eggs and solve your slug problems.

Been watching the Osprey camera from Loch Arkaig...3 chicks and maw and paw. Sadly they are beginning to leave for their trip to Africa. You don’t normally hear of them once they leave the nest but someone has spotted and photographed one of the chicks on the Somerset Levels...great to hear he is doing well! Go for it Doddie!! It’s been fascinating watching them go from egg to fledge then off on their big adventure!!
