Seed circle mystery - SarrissUK - 05-02-2025 I am in full swing sowing seeds, and a LOT of it is from our seed circle here. I came across a packet this morning, one of those triangular ones that have been folded out of a piece of paper. The label has rubbed off onto something else, so I have no idea what they are. So, join me in this mystery collaborative. The evidence are as following: The seed packet was folded out of a gardeners world magazine. The seeds are black beans with a little white dot on the belly. Google searches come up with black beans/turtle beans. Search on this forum doesn't bring up any seed circle posts that mention turtle or black beans. I will hold off sowing them, as it's only just February. The plot thickens. RE: Seed circle mystery - Veggie - 05-02-2025 Probably came from SC as she's the queen of folded packets. I'll have a look at my seeds. RE: Seed circle mystery - JJB - 05-02-2025 (05-02-2025, 12:58 PM)SarrissUK Wrote: I am in full swing sowing seeds, and a LOT of it is from our seed circle here. Does that narrow it down, Sarriss?? RE: Seed circle mystery - Veggie - 05-02-2025 Maybe Cherokee Trail of tears? RE: Seed circle mystery - Small chilli - 05-02-2025 Possibly yin yang from me. Agree with JJB a photo of beans would be very handy. RE: Seed circle mystery - SarrissUK - 05-02-2025 (05-02-2025, 02:48 PM)Veggie Wrote: Maybe Cherokee Trail of tears? That's it! I just googled that, and they look exactly like the beans I have - thank you so much! This is what they look like: https://happyacres.blog/2015/02/04/featured-cooking-bean-cherokee-trail-of-tears/ I have yin yang beans and they have much more white on them, so I knew they weren't that type. Mystery solved - thank you all! ![]() |
