Pond plants - Scarlet - 08-05-2023

I've a few pond lilies, some water iris, a red stemmed thing.... but would love some more flowers and also some trailing plants. My pondĀ is above ground, so something that would hand over the sides would be lively. I have lots of the oxygenating plants, water soldiers and some other bits. I dont have fish.but I have loads of water snails... would love something that attracts some dragonflies. Any ideas....

Ooh thanks SC - it actually says on there what they attract.

How about looking for a plant that you could also use in your flower arranging - like bulrushes or a fancy grass? I used to have an unnamed grass, with an umbrella like head that the dragonflies liked to land on.

Never thought of that VC. Bull rush type things may work. I will have a look. I had loads of dragonflies around my dahlias last year. I thought if i added plants that they liked in my trough I would get more near the house

So I put a post out on my local FB plant swap site...and I now have some creeping Jenny - Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' in exchange for some salvia nemerosa and vebena hastata seedlings Smile
