Wat chall growing in the greenhouse/polytunnel over winter. - Vinny - 02-09-2022 Thread brought on by a mention in another thread of growing spring cabbage over winter in greenhouse. Personally I have grown garlic,broad beans and cabbages over winter in the past. I need some inspiration (and please don't say boring lettuce) for what to grow in a greenhouse with lots of panes of glass missing over winter this year! I always grow Bijou mangetout, rocket, spinach and chard, boring lettuce (sorry but I had to say it), landcress and whatever oriental leaves decide to self seed,,,,,,,and purple kale. I have a pot of CFBs but don't know how successful they'll be overwinter. Physalis, early strawberries (I hope). Spring onions, carrots and beetroot. Parsley and a pot of mint. I'm sure there's more. They should be ready in May or earlier. Overwintering onions will also be ready earlier under cover. |
