RE: Tell us what you did today - Broadway - 16-11-2020

Collected 2 more bags for leaves.

Weeded and planted the asparagus bed, 3 rows of 7. I am going to cover/mulch it with leaves tomorrow and hope I don't have to do a lot else next year!

I have finally managed to get two house viewings lined up! The first one looks to have a good size garden (though estate agents are very good at taking misleading photos!) that should be long enough to make up for it being NW facing. However, I get bad vibes about the estate agent and possibly the vendor as well (I've contacted them four times before I've managed to get a viewing or an answer to basic questions about the property - shouldn't they be a bit more motivated given I'm in a strong position to buy?) It's also on a major road and has a bus stop right outside.

The second one has a smaller garden (but again, hard to tell exactly how big it is without viewing) and it's NE facing (though again, hopefully long enough that a decent portion of it gets some sun). There's also no direct access from the back to the front, so it would not be easy to get manure/compost/wood chips etc. delivered.

I'm not sure that either of these will suit my gardening needs, but it feels good to finally get some viewings going. I'm told that there are a lot of requests for valuations right now, so hopefully the market will pick up again in a week or two (when I'm no longer on annual leave...)

Been on the tiles again today and pleased with what I have achieved. I seem to have been tiling this bathroom forever and just want it finished now. Rolleyes
If weather is ok I'm going to treat myself to an allotment visit tomorrow and try and get the rest of my onion sets planted. Cool

I also have a multitude of two types of Spring cabbage ready to plant out so need to get started on this.

Hope you find something soon, Pros. Good luck with your search.
I'm sure you've done this already, but you can learn a lot about a property  by Zooming in on a Google Satellite Map. Wink

Yes, Google maps are very helpful! Once I've seen a couple of properties, it will be easier to relate what I'm seeing on satellite pictures to real life. Currently, I'm still finding it hard to picture.

I got excited about a house with a decent south-facing front garden that looked ideal for some fruit trees, but the back garden (north facing, obviously) was titchy when I looked at the satellite pictures. Privacy is really important to me, so I really don't want to be doing the bulk of my gardening out front!

RE: Tell us what you did today - Small chilli - 16-11-2020

Put the finishing touches to the tree enclosure. I managed it to get it done before it started raining again.
Finished my Christmas decoration  Cool .

RE: Tell us what you did today - Bren - 17-11-2020

Took down my runners, french beans and canes, covered the area with bags of raked up leaves hoping it will save me weeding.

RE: Tell us what you did today - Vinny - 17-11-2020

Took a bucket of dry woodash and spread it over the area I will be planting out Spring Cabbage. Another bucket of veg peelings was added to compost dalek.

Planted a row of Senshyu onion sets.

Harvested chillies and toms that were ready in greenhouse.

Pulled up a couple of cauli's that had 'blown' and noted I need to harvest another cauli nearer to the weekend.
