Did you grow your turmeric, FEW?
Can you remember that far back??
I may have mentioned a few months ago that I picked up a few bags of turmeric roots and lo and behold, they've grown. What I didn't know before today was that turmeric leaves are edible, you don't have to wait to harvest the roots. In fact, the leaves taste just like turmeric. I know because I've just eaten a bit. Quite a surprising flavour.
I'm going to encourage them now that I know they have a use, even when small.

That’s very interesting & good to know. I really like turmeric. And it has lots of health benefits. But as I may have mentioned before I’ll never use fresh turmeric root again. Everything in the kitchen turned yellow and I mean everything!! But if the leaves are edible. That’s brilliant.

Surely if you eat  the leaves you will weaken the plant and stop the tubers from forming?

I take Turmeric every day in tablet form but cant abide the taste in curries etc!

Depends on how much leaf you need to use for flavouring. I had a piece about half the size of my little finger nail.
