RE: 2022 - Tromba Competition - SarrissUK - 15-03-2022

I've been through my squash seeds, and it looks like if we have a food shortage coming up due to the events in the world right now, we can live off squash for a few years.

The trombo seeds I have are all just named Tromboncino, no albenga or other varieties. I have enough too, so I will stick with them. They're not terribly fresh though, so I will sow some in the next week or two and keep in the conservatory.

Yup, 2 more to eat - I tend to save pumpkins for the hungry gap which won't be long now looking at the way the brasssicas are starting to flower!

I've sown one remaining home-saved seed from 2019 and three from an expired packet. I may sow one or two from the trombo we're eating at the moment when I get to the seed end!

Did it start off green?  I was thinking my tromba had played away with a butternut, but maybe the green ones turn golden with maturity normally. Whatever the colour they're my go to squash for this season, many of the others rotted but not the trombas

Look at the little baby  Smile .

It won’t make it, there’s no boy flowers to pollinate it, but it’s a good start.
