Bokashi - Jimny14 - 22-01-2022 I'm looking in to this as a way of processing our kitchen waste. We are adjacent to farm land and I try to avoid putting food in to compost bins as it attracts vermin. Has anyone tried a bokashi bin? After its done its thing could I add it to compost without any worry re attracting my long tailed friends? RE: Bokashi - toomanytommytoes - 22-01-2022 We've used bokashi for 3 or 4 years for all of our cooked food waste. It pongs a bit but does seem to break down quickly in a compost pile. Can't advise on rats, never seen one in our garden, only mice. There is another method called a 'soil factory' where you mix the bokashified material with soil in a container with a lid, which may be more rat proof. |
