The random patch of old seeds that I sowed last year - its full to bursting with radish, landcress and calendula flowers. Not only do they look pretty but they're bringing all the bees and hoverflies in Wales to the garden!
I can't walk past it but have to stop and watch the activity - beautiful sight.

We have a pair of greater spotted woodpeckers visiting the bird table, they announce their arrival and departure with a 'chack chack'

Sitting up in bed with coffee this morning watching the very 'Heath Robinson' robin feeding station, we saw 5 robins at one time, each waiting their turn to come in for dried mealworms and pellets. Never had that many in the circuit before.

A negative covid test, but given I've been coughing hard for a week now without getting a cold or even a sore throat beforehand, I fear a false negative.

Today I met my old friends and we had a great time together. We haven't seen each other for several years and it was interesting to know about their life. They were surprised to know that I am a new gardener Big Grin

I saw a 7 spot ladybird in the garden. First one I’ve seen in the 13 year we’ve lived on the island.

My windowsill is covered in flowers from my Grandma's garden. All chosen by her, and most planted by her (in some cases, many, many years ago). My Mum cut them to have in the house for the funeral and I gathered together anything that looked like it might survive the trip home afterwards. My Mum also bought some other plants to have in pots around the house, so some of those have come home with me too.

Even though the reason they are here is so sad, there is still joy to be had in seeing them. My house smells like roses today.

When the blooms start to fade, I'm going to try to take cuttings from some of the stems. I may not get anything to take, but it seems worth trying.

If they're roses you could try drying the flowers, Pros. I've no idea how but I still have rosebuds from my wedding bouquet 45+ years ago. Big Grin

A good thought, Veggie, thank you. I have dried special flowers before, but I think I'd rather try for something living from these.
