I got home from our lovely holiday very early hours yesterday, and after a few hours sleep, Jay's son came back to the house after looking after it all for us while we were away. He asked what the massive yellow things are in the garden. I laughed, because I had asked him to pick the yellow courgettes regularly while we were away, but it must've gone over his head. There were three MASSIVE yellow marrows haha He's never tried courgettes, let alone yellow ones, so I sent him home with one of them.

I also harvested a load of beans for him, and some carrots and kale. I found a massive green tromboncino - I've never seen them that dark green, almost the colour of a standard courgette. He didn't want that, so I picked him a smaller one and left the large one on the plant until I can use it up.

Raspberries and 2 big bags of apples (James Grieve and Bramley) to take with us to the hospital tomorrow for Chris' physio on her arm. The staff there might as well have them than some of the scavengers riound here. Some of the eating apples on the tree had been attacked, probably by birds, wood pigeons most likely as they seem to eat everything at the moment. I saw 2 feasting on sweetpea seeds. I had pulled up some that were loaded with pods. We saved about 50 seeds and I threw the halum on a lawn to be mowed in as didn't want lots of sweetpeas self seeding. I tend to do that with annual weeds that have gone to seed as well.
