Come on England. Do yourselves proud.

I see you have used twine to support the tomato plant. when I used that sort of twine once, on quite a few plants it snapped and I had to retrieve them as best I could. Does anyone use a non plastic twine (environmentally friendly) that is strong enough and doesn't rot for long enough?

I use Velcro tape. I cut it to size and save the bits at the end of the yyear. Been using the same bits for 3 years now. It may not be made of natural fibres but its lasting well and is wide enough not to cut into the stems.

BTW, England have scored after 2 minutes!

Not watching- not interested in it I’m afraid
And it would be illegal anyway because we gave up the TV Licence at the end of May and I can honestly say I haven’t missed it one bit.
Also have a husband who is similarly not interested in football and who is (according to my 87 year old neighbour) not a “real man” if he doesn’t like footie!

I use a twine I got on the garden centre I think they called it jute or something like that, but I can’t see it lasting anymore than a season or two. Unlike the butchers twine I used to use, it is great. They use it for tying meat, no plastic in it.

I use 3-ply jute twine. If it's outside where it gets wet, towards the end of the season it does become weaker. Inside the greenhouse it's fine though. You could always double it up and twist to make it stronger.

I wonder whether Broadway will come back now that the football is over?

I hope so, but not an easy thing to do.

The door's still open. Smile

It certainly is. We are so few in number it's a shame to lose anyone, for whatever reason.
