RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 24-09-2023 Yes!! "Deaf Empowerment" in America. It examines the Deaf social movement in America from its inception in the mid 19th century etc etc I know I'm a sucker for random but this is totally out of my league. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Small chilli - 24-09-2023 Yeah that’s very random. I was going to suggest a self help theme book. But I couldn’t for the life of me remember the phrase “self help” . I was going to put physiobabble . Didn’t think that would convey what I was actually trying to say . Do you remember the sitcom with Uncle Stavely who had a hearing horn, his stock phrase was 'Pardon, I heard that' Might have been I Didn't Know You Cared. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 24-09-2023 I don't remember Uncle Staveley but there is a clip on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfWr9JNUWfg RE: Freecycle and similar websites - JJB - 25-09-2023 (24-09-2023, 06:47 PM)Veggie Wrote: I don't remember Uncle Staveley but there is a clip on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfWr9JNUWfgYep that's him. Initially I thought he was in Pleges Pickles (Hilda Baker & Jimmy Jewel) but I was wrong. I bet both were equally unPC along with Til Death Do Us Part. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 25-09-2023 I've led a sheltered life - I don't remember Pleges Pickles either - but I do remember Til Death etc. So many series would be unPC now. Liked 'Never mind the quality, feel the width' as well along with Faulty towers and Boys from the Blackstuff to name a few.(24-09-2023, 06:47 PM)Veggie Wrote: I don't remember Uncle Staveley but there is a clip on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfWr9JNUWfgYep that's him. IN today came 2 books - an Allotment Gardening Book and a book of Dal recipes. Also, a 2 compartment pedal bin to help with sorting the recycling. Tomorrow, I'm picking up an Air Fryer. Not sure what its like except its a Tower one. Looks pretty basic - like me really. |
