Prawn lady again!
Cornish pasties, Black pudding slices (Vinny??), Yeo Valley yogurts, Creme caramel, carrots, parsnips, sweet peppers, baby spinach, cos lettuce, mixed berries, pineapple, root ginger, lots more fresh herbs (I'm at saturation point with these so they'll be composted).
In return, I've loaned her my blender as she's making soup for the homeless at the weekend and given her a massive tin of baked beans that may be of use for her soup.

Its been a good FREE day!
First the Seed Swap with all the free seeds I collected
Next up was the Prawn Lady - bread and muffins, cheese, kefir, olives, tomato & mozzarella salad, 3 bags of spinach (hot bin!), fresh ginger and 10 boxes of prepared mango!
Third up - the hoarding lady's daughter who has found 24 jars of strawberry jam, 7 jars of honey, soup, coffee and more. I came home with 6 jars of strawberry jam, 2 x raspberry jam, apricot jam, mincemeat, 2 jars of honey (one from Highgrove!), baked beans x 4, tuna in oil x 4, soup x 4.

I should be able to survive on this lot for a few weeks. Better find a recipe for mango chutney!!

IN came 3 boxes of porridge, 2 of which are sachets of golden syrup.
Also, for the garden, a compost aerator thingy. I was told its also good for digging out brambles - must try that.

I've recently given away lots of toys that are too young for us now. Picked up a blow away greenhouse the other day.

Acquired a Halogen oven to replace the one I'm using which is showing signs of giving up the ghost.

As you may know, they have a huge glass bowl which holds the food and a lid which contains the heating element. Most of them have a metal extender ring which sits on top of the glass bowl and under the lid to give greater oven capacity.  Every time I acquire another halogen oven, the only bit that gets binned is the heating element - so I have at least 4 glass bowls and other bits lying around. Two bowls are in the garden for the animals to drink from, one is in the GH with a few plants in pots inside, and I did plant one with amaryllis bulbs last year.

Today, I realised that I could use them as "cloches" over frost tender seedlings by putting the extender ring around the plant and resting the glass bowl on top. That'll be tomorrow's experiment!

A clear out of shoes, cassettes, VHS videos and CDs. It's a shame I can't see any results from my clearing out like, say, cleared floor space or shelf space but at least I know the cupboards and drawers are sorted.

Just back from the Prawn Lady!
Milk, leeks, radishes, apples, mango (Just put the last lot of mango in the hotbin!), rosemary, mint & 3 packets of hot cross buns.
