RE: 2025 - Seeds and stuff I've bought or acquired - JJB - 13-04-2025 I've bought a watering can from Temu, https://www.temu.com/uk/4-garden-durable-plastic-watering-can-with-detachable-long-spout--lightweight-watering-pot-for-plants-and-flowers-g-601099693790652.html [attachment=8149] I've never used Temu before and I'm a bit wary but I wanted a small long nose watering can(2 - 3 litres) with a metal rose (all the plastic ones are too dollopy) to replace an old Sankey 2L one which P has had to repair. No matter where I looked I couldn't find a match to the Sankey one. [attachment=8148] On the subject of watering cans, I had two of these, probably 5-7 litre, a green in good condition and this orange one not so. They must have been 25-30 yrs old. The green one lived beside the house by a water butt, ready for watering tubs at the front. It was visible from the road, which was my downfall. Some b****r nicked it overnight and once again I can't replace it like for like. It was made by Geeco, long since demised. [attachment=8150] RE: 2025 - Seeds and stuff I've bought or acquired - toomanytommytoes - 14-04-2025 A watering can is quite a strange thing to steal. I've got a light green version of your Geeco one, says it was made in 1978 on the bottom! I repaired a hole in it with Sugru (silicone putty), and it's held up quite nicely. The can is crazing all over though so I don't think it's going to last much longer. Interestingly, it has a missing bit of plastic exactly where yours does. Haws do a 2.25L long nose one if the Temu one isn't any good - https://haws.co.uk/products/the-sutton-splash RE: 2025 - Seeds and stuff I've bought or acquired - JJB - 14-04-2025 (14-04-2025, 12:10 PM)toomanytommytoes Wrote: A watering can is quite a strange thing to steal. I figure the thief must have clocked it whilst walking/driving up the road and came back under cover of darkness. Perhaps knowing they're irreplaceable. They were taking a risk though as it's a fair way away from the road. BAH. RE: 2025 - Seeds and stuff I've bought or acquired - Small chilli - 26-04-2025 My latest seed order has arrived. Lettuce copacabana baby leaf Spinach red orach Courgette jaune et vert RE: 2025 - Seeds and stuff I've bought or acquired - Small chilli - 01-06-2025 Neighbour has just come back from a visit home to wales. She’s brought me 2 bags of biochar 1 raw & 1 activated. And a bottle of something else which is still in it’s trail stage. It’s my neighbours sister’s business. Here’s the website if you want to look or try some yourselves. www.bio-bloom.co.uk I’m very excited to try this. RE: 2025 - Seeds and stuff I've bought or acquired - JJB - 02-06-2025 I bought some cheap aquilegia seeds from T&M with free p&p, for that price I'm prepared to risk T&M. RE: 2025 - Seeds and stuff I've bought or acquired - Vinny - 07-06-2025 Major spending today on three healthy looking plants from Morries. £3 each but 3 for 2 so £6 for the three. Evergreen shrub Lavtera Burgundy wine to replace my Lavatra which I have brought from every house I have lived at but for some reason gave up the ghost this winter. I don't recall it being evergreen though? Evergreen Shrub Choisya Sundance which I had at a previous house but didn't bring it with me. I remember paying l lot more than £2 for it and this one is a very healthy looking plant! Climbing Collection Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus Henryana) Try saysing that after a couple of pints! I am hoping this is the one that turns bright red in the Autumn? All are decent plants which have actually been watered, a rare happening in supermarket plants! A good haul Vinny, I'm after a Sundance but unfortunately no Morries round here. Hey! You've posted a picture. Congratulations. RE: 2025 - Seeds and stuff I've bought or acquired - Small chilli - 07-06-2025 I got 4 pallet collars yesterday. I might get some more on Monday.
