RE: The build - Veggie - 10-06-2022 You can probably access all the back numbers too. Its a nice read for anyone with an interest in woodland or working with wood. Link here https://livingwoodsmagazine.co.uk/subscriptions/ to subscribe (free) and download - plus access to back issues. It used to be a hard copy magazine but the Editor, Nick, had an accident and when he recovered it was brought back as a digital mag. RE: The build - Bren - 10-06-2022 Thanks for the links Veggie they're interesting reads. RE: The build - Veggie - 10-06-2022 Sorry I hadn't posted about it before - just assumed that Bob/SC would know about the magazine. I had a free subscription when I bought the wood otherwise I probably wouldn't have known about it. RE: The build - Small chilli - 12-06-2022 And some more milling. Getting to the end of our row of logs now. It’s a long way to pull them into the mill now. [attachment=4870] [attachment=4871] She had a big shake running all the way through her. Made things a little tricky [attachment=4872] And some more milling photos ( are you bored yet? ) [attachment=4873] [attachment=4874] About 75 boards and 8, 2”x 2” today. RE: The build - PyreneesPlot - 13-06-2022 Love the action shot! Well done you two. Your house really will be so special and uniquely yours RE: The build - JJB - 13-06-2022 Never bored SC, keep 'em coming. So exciting seeing how you do things. Totally outside of my sphere of experience. I couldn't start to knock up a table like you did, let alone build a house. RE: The build - Small chilli - 13-06-2022 You lot are so incredibly supportive. It really is lovely, thank you Today I’m loading the trailer with scaffolding. I see bruised fingers in my future . Photos to follow later. ( of the loaded trailer, not bruised fingers ) RE: The build - Veggie - 13-06-2022 You're doing what so many of us have dreamt of doing but never did. We're with you every nail, plank, whatever of the way. Keep the photos coming - don't bruise your shutter finger. RE: The build - Small chilli - 13-06-2022 First trailer load of scaffolding ready to go. It got ( hopefully) enough of all the different bits needed to make 2 sections 2 high. With a few spare bits and a few “what’s that bit for” . Bob will drive it up to the plot later and I’ll go and unload it tomorrow. This will happen several times this week and get unloaded in different locations around the house so we don’t have to manhandle it all to far. Because as you can imagine, it’s all quite lumpy ( SC speak for heavy ). [attachment=4885] No bruised fingers! RE: The build - Bren - 13-06-2022 SC I love looking at your photos it like your home is coming together before our eyes. |
