Or the conveyor belt of prizes on the Generation Game. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 03-07-2023 Sorry to report that I didn't pick up a cuddly toy today but I did collect a little earthenware pot to use in the microwave and a bag of clothes - most of which are being passed on on Wednesday. What about a hostess trolley? That used to feature regularly. Not sure you'd be doing any hostessing though but I'm sure you'd find a purpose for it somewhere. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 04-07-2023 Haven't seen a hostess trolley on offer for a long time. However, I do have an ordinary wooden trolley which has been " modified" over the years. Its final incarnation was to turn it into a two tier propagator with lights under the top level and a "roof" on the top. Maybe a hostess trolley could turn into a heated propagator? RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Small chilli - 06-07-2023 Out a not so crazy daisy. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - doublyjonah - 06-07-2023 Out in the last couple of days: large mirror and two picture frames RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 06-07-2023 IN yesterday, you'll never guess, a soft close toilet seat (£120)............and it was unused. Unfortunately the fittings were missing and they cost about £40 to replace. So it became an OUT today. Also OUT two bags of books for a charity stall. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - JJB - 07-07-2023 Out went a couple of cucumbers and two pkts of seeds, turnips and radish from Mr Fothergills freebies. In exchange, in time, I'll get some horse manure. RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 11-07-2023 IN today - one of my favourite sort of collections - leftovers from Hello Fresh and Gousto meals! A carrier bag full of spices, herbs, sauces, honey, creamed coconut, tomato paste, rice, pasta, bulgur wheat, panko breadcrumbs (still puzzled by these), cartons of red and black beans and lentils and more, all in recipe sized portions. All I need now are the recipes! RE: Freecycle and similar websites - Veggie - 13-07-2023 Gardening INs today About 6 huge Brussels sprout plants and a pot of leek seedlings 20-30 probably. Had a chat with the man, of course. I'd previously given him about 100 7cm flower pots and I found about 20 more for him tonight. I asked him why he wanted that size and nothing else. He grows plants to sell at car boot sales and 7cm pots fit the trays that he uses. He sows directly into the pots and sells the plants when big enough. His front garden was full of planters, mostly hostas that were totally undamaged by slugs. Each pot had a copper band around it to keep the slugs away. Seemed to work for him! Also IN came some OLIO veg - 2 bags of carrots, a punnet of Piccolo tomatoes and Grapes. |
