My kale under mesh is still hokey and yellowing. What pigeons? Insects have a bit of a nibble. RE: Sunflower competition - JJB - 19-10-2020 Wot no pigeons! Ah but I bet you have midges . I got eaten alive yesterday, some even bit me down my drawers! RE: Sunflower competition - Small chilli - 19-10-2020 (19-10-2020, 11:29 AM)JJB Wrote: Wot no pigeons! Ah but I bet you have midges . RE: Sunflower competition - JJB - 19-10-2020 Actually they bit me where 'you park your bike'! Bending over obviously exposed ripe flesh . About the only creature that would dare go there. RE: Sunflower competition - Veggie - 19-10-2020 [attachment=1469]..............or a blue bird RE: Sunflower competition - JJB - 20-10-2020 Bluebird is looking for the midges! just in the right place. Luckily the bites don't last long, not like some critters that bite in the garden, you can be scratching for days. RE: Sunflower competition - Vinny - 16-04-2021 Is this comp back on again this year? It better be and add the tallest sunflower to the list please I have just bought some sunflower seeds called Giant Skyscraper (4 metres+) in an effort to beat my next door neighbour. With the winds we get around here it may be four metres horizontally though! RE: Sunflower competition - Veggie - 16-04-2021 Here ya go, Vinny https://gardenandgossip.org/showthread.php?tid=1030 RE: Sunflower competition - Small chilli - 16-04-2021 I don’t see why there can’t be a sunflower competition again this year. I’ll leave the new competition thread & categories up to someone else. I’m not growing any this year & I’m going to be a little busy. I look forward to seeing everyone’s entries |
