Saw something today that I've never seen before - a Rainbow on land, not in the sky. It spread across the fields on the hillside to the north and painted the fields with all the colours of the rainbow. It was particularly beautiful towards the east where it was a deep purple. I saw it from the bedroom window, Doubt that I could have taken a photo of it through glass and I wouldn't have been able to see it from ground level because of all the shrubs and trees at eyelevel.
Glorious - made all the rain worthwhile.

Impulse buy today made me happy. I have a huge common rhododendron in my garden which has purple flowers. I know some people percieve rhodies as weed plants, but I disagree and mine is a home fo umpteen bird species.
I digress, what I bought today from Lidl was a white floweed rhodie. A decent size plant with flower buds intact fo six squid seemed a bargain to me!
My soil must be acidic as my rhodie and blueberries seem to thrive so hopefully my new plant will thrive also?

I found my secateurs.
...........Not until after I'd emptied the garden waste bin, thinking that I might have dropped them in there...........but no, nothing like so careless! They were in the GH all the time, in a bucket, under some rolled up bits of carpet that I keep inside the doorway to catch the incoming mud! In my efforts to clear the floor, I'd rolled them up and dumped them in the bucket, on top of the secateurs!.
