RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - Small chilli - 26-05-2025 Ham, egg, chips & peas RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - SarrissUK - 26-05-2025 Home made smashed burgers today and it was bloody lovely. I've made plenty of burgers in my time, but not this thin, nor that well done. Method: minced beef with garlic powder or fresh garlic, black pepper and salt to taste. 80g chunks are rolled out very thinly - I just pressed them out with my hands on a chopping board, then fried in a cast iron pan at a very high heat. They got crispy and blackened, yum! I pressed down on them with a stainless steel pot. That helped to keep them flat and to get the whole surface crispy. Served in brioche buns with lettuce, tomato, various sauces and fried onion, and home made fries on the side. RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - Veggie - 26-05-2025 B. Banana, granola & yogurt L. Banana & peanut butter on seeded bread D. Fishfinger sandwiches. Bought some YS bananas yesterday in Morries - reduced to 8p for a bunch of 5 bananas - so i bought 3 bunches. At checkout, the cashier couldn't get the 3rd bunch to scan, so she gave them to me. I did suggest that she rescan another bunch as they were all the same price but she declined. I wasn't going to argue! RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - Vinny - 27-05-2025 I bought a lump of air dried uncooked Italian ham a while ago. The skin/rind was a bit too tuff for m so I gave it to Kato. Even Kato struggled a bit but after 5 minutes or so chewing he managed to soften it enough and eventually swallowed it. Part of what was left became my breakfast. Cut very thinly it was like eating Parma ham and kept me chewing for quite a while. ![]() For lunch I had lots of sausages & eggs with a dollop of picked cabbage on the side of plate to add a bit of acidity! I have part cooked some breast of lamb which I will finish cooking and have later today. RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - Small chilli - 27-05-2025 After another day playing in a kitchen.
