I am opting in to lots of sessions with Octopus, but I'm using so little energy the rest of the time that cutting down further doesn't seem to get me anywhere. One time I sat in the dark for an hour and even turned off my fridge and freezer, and still didn't get anything for my efforts.
Still, I suppose only putting the heating on when it's less than 10 degrees C is saving me enough money as it is! Turns out that I don't mind being able to see my breath when I am wearing four layers and have three blankets over me, including an electric fleece.

I waited until after 6.30, when the Energy Shift was over, to think about cooking dinner. About half an hour later we had a power cut! That's gratitude for you. Fortunately, power was restored within 15 minutes and everything electric could resume. Had to reset all the timers and clocks then. On the bright side, that's another 15 minutes energy saved.

Energy Shift season is starting again! I have my first session tomorrow from 5pm - 6.30pm - to reduce consumption by 20%. Doesn't say how much they'll pay me if I do !
