It makes them a lot easier to read the titles I think. I've also put my bookcases up high as its a pain to try and find books near the floor. RE: 2022 - Good Morning, Afternoon, Night - Veggie - 22-01-2022 Bending down for books is good exercise - standing up again is even better. The problem with horizontal stacking is that I always want to read the book on the bottom of the pile, then the rest fall off the shelf.......................but, bending down for books is good exercise etc. RE: 2022 - Good Morning, Afternoon, Night - JJB - 22-01-2022 On the subject of books.... It's my friend's birthday next week. She's quite sensitive, doesn't like blood, gore, etc on TV, she's still grieving for her son who died 8 yrs ago, not hugely but tears come easily and she doesn't like talking about death. She also has a black labradorite on whom she dotes. So when I was in a charity shop I saw a book with a black lab on the cover called What the Dog Knows, a book about scent training. I thought great, right up her street and bought it for her birthday. I've started reading it before I wrapped it up, it's all about cadaver dog training, body search dogs. It's really interesting but I don't think I'll be passing this one over as a birthday present RE: 2022 - Good Morning, Afternoon, Night - Veggie - 22-01-2022 Good thing you had a little read first. If you give someone chocolates, do you have a lick first? RE: 2022 - Good Morning, Afternoon, Night - JJB - 22-01-2022 (22-01-2022, 11:44 PM)Veggie Wrote: Good thing you had a little read first. At the rate I read there was no way I would have finished the book, but now I can, it's quite interesting. RE: 2022 - Good Morning, Afternoon, Night - JJB - 23-01-2022 PS she's getting a fair few books which will be passed back for me to read, then on to our other pal. Its called recycling, you know Veggie, have you ever heard of that? This afternoon I’ve been moving furniture around in the holiday home ready for the arrival of 2 new sofas and tumble dryer. Hopefully everyone else has had a slight more exciting day. RE: 2022 - Good Morning, Afternoon, Night - JJB - 01-02-2022 Been there with LPOAs it's a minefield these days, enjoy |
