It's P's rescheduled hernia op today. Let's hope it all goes to plan. How I'm going to keep him from overdoing it afterwards is beyond me. Anyone got any shackles

Yesterday I finished shed! Yay!!!!
Today contactors have actually turned up to do guttering,facia, soffit and downpipe.
I've had two other contractors who were 'no-shows' 
I'll try and upload some piccies of finiahed shed once I get a chance and the computer behaves itself!

I served a four year apprenticeship many years ago as a Plater/Welder/Blacksmith and worked as such fo ten years. I couldn't do it now, but these plans of a much smaller scale project were challenging? No matter........... if I could build a ship I was sure I could build a shed.
I am quite pleased with the outcome and with the acuracy of the drillings on the parts. It all fitted together nicely, but the gusty winds didn't help!

Planted more courgettes & squashes..
Pulled up lots of sticky willie! I hate that stuff.
Did the usual round of GH watering, tying in tomatoes & cucumbers. Still waiting for a hint of ripening tomato. Seems to be late this year. Must check the "Picked my first".
EDIT First tomato picked in 2024 - 15/7. 2023 - no record! 2022 - 10/6.

Sticky willie pulling, with other weeds; Trying to clear my way to some fruit bushes. Reached the gooseberries but there's very little fruit on them, unlike the ones that are not overgrown. Need to weed my way through to the loganberries - I can see red ones but can't reach them, yet.
Found some heavily laden redcurrants, still green, but untouched by birds. The branches are only a few inches above ground so not easy for the pigeons to land on - the top branches have been stripped.

Yesterday I wanted to do some strimming but I’d run out of fuel. So I did the worst areas with hand shears. Pulled up 2 blotting mangelwurzel . Did a compost bin top up with hopefully the right amounts of green (wet) & brown (dry) waste and bio char and coffee grounds.

Got the strimming done. Transplanted some quaking grass. Did a little more digging of the latest bed. Dead heading.

I won't bore you by saying more weeding but that's what I did! Going to be adventurous tomorrow and repair some of the edged beds, I might really get exciting and paint the gates as well!
