RE: 2025 - What I did today - Bren - 29-05-2025 Not much today just weeded my GH borders and tied in tom plants. RE: 2025 - What I did today - Small chilli - 29-05-2025 Just a bit of weeding once the rain stopped. RE: 2025 - What I did today - Small chilli - 30-05-2025 Found more snapped phlox. Due to wind and rain. So added them to the cuttings I took the other day. Swapped a couple of camellias. Lady Campbell came out ( done nothing in the 3 years it’s been in. Not flowered once, hardly grown and hadn’t put down any decent roots). Planted kick off in its place. RE: 2025 - What I did today - JJB - 30-05-2025 Finished planting gh's. Planting the final cucumber I upended the well overgrown plant to knock the pot off and the whole thing flopped over and broke the stem. I splinted and wrapped up the wound and planted it anyway. It has two chances and if it fails I'll take the top off and root it. I do have another cuc in the wings so there'll not be a shortage. Supported broad beans that were leaning over in the strong winds we've had. Picked strawberries. PS it was Paul's & my 44th wedding anniversary today. It took an email of congratulations from my friend to remind me, otherwise both of us would have forgotten. RE: 2025 - What I did today - Veggie - 30-05-2025 Congratulations to you both and my commiserations to P for having to put up with you for so long. ![]() RE: 2025 - What I did today - JJB - 30-05-2025 (30-05-2025, 08:40 PM)Veggie Wrote: Congratulations to you both and my commiserations to P for having to put up with you for so long.I think he knew what he was letting himself in for, all those years ago. I've no sympathy for him. ![]() RE: 2025 - What I did today - Vinny - 31-05-2025 Belated congratulations for yesterday JJB. Today was my usual Saturday morning excercises and then shopping. Only garden related thing I did was order 60 little plastic cones from Temu for covering brassicas when I plant them out. Very cheap at under a fiver delivered! I had loaded the Motorhome up yesterday for an excursion today but weather isn't what I expected so Kato and I may go away tomorrow instead! Oh forgot to mention that as well as visit to the plot yesterday , I cut my lawn at home. RE: 2025 - What I did today - Bren - 31-05-2025 Planted my Bluehilde FCB, then lots of weeding and rehoming self seeded nasturtiums. RE: 2025 - What I did today - Admin - 31-05-2025 You guessed lit, weeding! Trying to get other plot holders to understand that I am not intending to plant crops this year is proving difficult. They find it had to comprehend that this is for me, my medication if you like, don't get me wrong, the offer of help or plants is very nice but this is part of my healing process. Starting to sound like a miserable old git !! As promised a few progress pics. [attachment=8286] [attachment=8287] RE: 2025 - What I did today - SarrissUK - 31-05-2025 Happy belated anniversary JJB! I've spent all my time outside of work lately on the veg beds by the pond. Another long, wide path has been laid, with cardboard this time, as the weed grow through it far too quick otherwise (as I've sadly found with the first bit of path that I laid). I've planted out nine star perennial broccoli in the middle of a wide bed, with the kale on one side, and tomatoes on the other. I have some hollyhocks to plant out, some of them are what I collected on a Lincolnshire road side, or rather the middle of the road to Hull. Some other hollyhock that my mum had saved seeds from. I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll do. Jay has been busy on the outdoor chicken enclosure at the back of the barn today. All that is left to do is the chicken wire and the flap to go in and out. They will be excited to be able to go outside! ![]() |
