RE: Hotbins - Spec - 14-12-2020 One other question, what side do you think I should make the internal, th plane board side or the silver coated side, I take it the silver side is a thin plastic skin RE: Hotbins - Broadway - 14-12-2020 Hi Spec I've been looking at the items below with a view of building one, they stock them in Wickes and similar in B&Q although 1200mm may be a tad wide!! I think I'd be more confident cutting the small one is half rather than the larger one in quarters. His tummy is 2/3rds full and he's steaming when you open the lid. Top thermometer reads 16C, One in the compost is 24C. RE: Hotbins - JJB - 16-12-2020 Is Mr. Greedy going to get a special xmas dinner? RE: Hotbins - Veggie - 16-12-2020 He's not sharing my beans on toast!! It’ll be really interesting to see how well all you random out of season sowing do in their. I think you’re going to have a fantastic early start to your harvest. In the short time you’ve been feeding mr greedy have you k noticed the breakdown of materials already or is that expecting to much from him ? RE: Hotbins - Veggie - 18-12-2020 I've not looked too far down into the bin - mainly because I'm too short. Think its too early for action but there's plenty of steam coming out when you lift the lid and only dry materials have been added. I'm toying with putting a seed tray on the lid, near the top vent to see if it helps germination. Would have to move it all the time to open the lid so maybe too much potch. RE: Hotbins - Veggie - 26-12-2020 Boxing Day Update at 9.15am. Air temp = 10 GH = 15 Mr G's Lid = 26 Mr G's Tummy = 44. RE: Hotbins - Spec - 26-12-2020 Well do you think it's working OK Veggie and are there any smells from it? |
