It's not really a problem this year as they seem to avoid toms and I've not bothered with aubs and peppers and I have enough chillies in the freezer to last for ages. The noise might drive me out into the gh. Porch still in progress and its raining! After a few hiccups about quality which have now been sorted, P is happy and it's looking good. One problem is that the rain is getting in....but that could be because it has no roof RE: 2022 - What I did today - Mark_Riga - 06-04-2022 (05-04-2022, 09:08 AM)JJB Wrote:(04-04-2022, 07:23 PM)Mark_Riga Wrote: Hoed a lot then potted up some aubergines, sweet peppers and others, about 60 plants in all. Not all will get planted out. They will have to demonstrate their worth first. I escaped greenfly last year but was plagued with red spider mites. The cucumber and aubergines were worse hit though the cucumber (a bella bought in a seed sale in local G.C.) plant did produce about 25 cucumbers. The aubergines were massacred. I've sown 3 types - long purple, black beauty and ronde de valence to see if there is any difference. RE: 2022 - What I did today - Bren - 06-04-2022 Potted on my toms yesterday I'm doing well this year I only have 3 spares. RE: 2022 - What I did today - PyreneesPlot - 07-04-2022 Yesterday Some of this and last week's sow list Pricked out tomatoes, potted on gherkins and Tromboncino (is 5 plants too many?) RE: 2022 - What I did today - JJB - 07-04-2022 ^^^ no of course not! What a silly question. RE: 2022 - What I did today - JJB - 07-04-2022 I've not sown mine yet but I'm sure there will be more than 4. RE: 2022 - What I did today - PyreneesPlot - 07-04-2022 I only had one plant last year and still have one left to eat! RE: 2022 - What I did today - SarrissUK - 07-04-2022 I've sown some courgettes, squashes and pumpkins today, in more modest numbers than my cucumbers haha They've all gone in the conservatory, that's hovering around 9 degrees, fairly constant. It's not really warm enough, but the heating is so rarely on now that it won't get much warmer until the sun warms it up |
