I had a nostalgic visit to the area where I grew up - I haven't been there for a long, long time.
My childhood home was demolished in the 70s, slum clearance, so there's nothing to see there except newbuild terraced houses. However, on the other side of the main road there were 4 roads of, what we thought were posh houses ( because they had indoor toilets and bathrooms). Every school day I would walk along one of these 4 roads to go to school (Infants & Junior). It didn't matter which road because they all ended up in roughly the same place - on another main road to be crossed to the school. We walked those roads 4 times a day, morning, home for lunch and back again, then back home in the afternoon. According to Google its just over half a mile.
I went to one of the "posh" houses today to pick up some freebies, and it brought back so many memories. I could still remember which houses my friends lived in and special memories about them. There was Margaret Judd who swung me round and I fell over and broke my arm! Robert Langley who had a chemistry set as a Christmas present and made something which exploded and burnt half his eyebrow off. It never regrew! Michael Jones whose family were emigrating to Canada and wanted me to have his rabbit - but my parents wouldn't let me. Ian Jones whose father was a dentist and he used to bring in some of the pink stuff they make false teeth gums from - he made a little "willy" from it and stuck it out the front of his trousers. We thought it was hilarious but the teacher was not amused Big Grin
It was good to remember all those old friends wherever they may be now. Thanks to them for all the happy times.

I’ve done a few new things.
crochet teddy bear has finally sold from the sales barrow. He’s been waiting for a home for over 12 months.
Rescue a red deer calf. That got into the orchard at our old place but couldn’t find its way back out.
Started having a teaspoon of infused vinegar in the morning. https://www.sourpowervinegars.com/
I do actually know the people that make this. It makes great salad dressings and a splash in the pan while you cook your sausage works well too. ( not actually tried this yet) . So we will see if I notice any health benefits in a few weeks.
Had an audience while rock splitting yesterday ( don’t ask )
This morning while collecting my watering can of sea water from the loch , a tourist ask if I was after fresh water Rolleyes . I know I’m not very bright, but I think even I could work out, even if I’d never been there before. That it wasn’t going to be fresh water in the loch  Rolleyes

Depends which loch? The loch I went swimming in earlier in the year was fresh water and full of brown trout! Tongue Big Grin

They weren't that hard, to be fair, just not risen as much a I'd like and very crumbly. Still tasted good.

I've set up a winter sowing station in gh2, now the cucs and toms are out. Usually the gh's get slowly emptied ready for cleaning up next spring.
There are some sweetpea seeds ready to sow tomorrow.

My something new this week was to register a shark egg case sighting.

Mine was a lesser spotted dogfish egg case

Well spotted, SC. We used to call them mermaid's purses but I see that there are lots of different eggcases - not just mermaids'. Big Grin
