You will have to set up a 'Bob' trap, but make sure it's humane. I used to have the same problem, a 'Simon' but he left home and got married, he's someone else's problem now! The shoplifters here have 4 legs although there is an old bird that nicks the raspberries if she thinks you're not looking. Poor old girl, she's a bit past her prime and she'd never make a living on the streets, so I pretend I haven't seen her. (Despite what you're thinking, its NOT me ) RE: Time to reopen the Little Shop at the end of the garden! - Mikey - 12-06-2020 The shopkeeper has been busy restocking the alcohol section. I don’t know why he bothers no one buys it, he ends up giving it away! I noticed a basket of soil in the corner earlier today and he gestured I should have a furtle and low and behold there were a few spuds tucked in there, they went very nicely with a veggie burger and some peas shoots. There are a few sporadic fruit deliveries some wild strawberries and golden raspberries, apparently there’s a large load of black currants on order but they are stuck at customs presently. The shop has a new bakery section mainly selling sourdough and Welshcakes at the moment, I’ve put my order in for Sunday he’s a late riser the baker by all accounts. I’ve heard they plan on opening a cheese counter soon specialising in local mozzarella, I’m not sure there’s a lot of call for it round here. We are mainly Welsh not Italian, I guess he must know his market. RE: Time to reopen the Little Shop at the end of the garden! - Mikey - 16-06-2020 Gotta make an early start today, thankfully the shop is open sorting the papers. There’s some lovely tomato sized beets on the shelf today. If I’m quick I might be able to make some boiled beet sandwiches for lunch, lush with a little mayo. RE: Time to reopen the Little Shop at the end of the garden! - Veggie - 16-06-2020 Just back from some window shopping and, don't tell on me, but I shoplifted some raspberries while he wasn't looking. Don't think anyone will notice as there were plenty more. There'll be a delivery of courgettes in time for dinner and maybe some mangetout? I must ask the shopkeeper when he's expecting the baby beets in store. Shouldn't be long now. RE: Time to reopen the Little Shop at the end of the garden! - Small chilli - 16-06-2020 The little shop is so full of lettuce you can hardly find anything else. Shop keeper over orders every year, but this year has excelled himself! There is a small corner of the shop that is starting to fill very quickly with courgettes, but they are flying out the door.....at the moment. A good selection of kale, carrots & spring onions are also available. If you can fight your way past the lettuce. RE: Time to reopen the Little Shop at the end of the garden! - Veggie - 16-06-2020 Courgettes were on BOGOF offer today but I was diddled - came home with 7 courgettes, not 8. I'm going back tomorrow to ask for the missing one. These shop keepers! You have to keep an eye on them. Don't feel so guilty about eating the raspberries this morning now. RE: Time to reopen the Little Shop at the end of the garden! - Bren - 16-06-2020 Someones overstocked the Basil no matter how much is taken its still there lurking on the shelves, somes been eaten some frozen then the rest dehydrated. Lots of lettuce to go with it as well as radishes and spring onions.. Courgettes, cuc and toms are still on back order RE: Time to reopen the Little Shop at the end of the garden! - Mikey - 16-06-2020 I’m a bit concerned, there’s a bit too much furtiling going on in the spud bed behind the runner beans, It’s very off putting. There’s a few new empty shelves, I’m not sure what is coming but, I’m excited. |
