RE: New RSFLF Challenge. :D - Veggie - 25-09-2022

More North Strip clearance today - the last for 3 weeks - as I move onto the adjacent strip tomorrow for a week. Concentrating on one part of the garden has helped as I can see a difference, dare I say an improvement after my week's work. Its been difficult ignoring the rest of the garden though!
Its Roots day tomorrow and I'll be sowing beetroot and radishes.

RE: New RSFLF Challenge. :D - Veggie - 26-09-2022

Golden beetroot and French Breakfast radish sown in GH2.
So exciting seeing that some of last week's seeds are germinating - Rocket and Welsh Onions are in the lead.
Did some Clearance in Strip 2.
Shoots day tomorrow - sowing leeks and planting Elephant garlic.

RE: New RSFLF Challenge. :D - Veggie - 28-09-2022

Failed to sow leeks & plant elephant garlic yesterday as cut down a plum tree instead.
Fruits day today - sowed Aquadulce Broad beans in the GH
Leaves day tomorrow - kale & cabbage.

RE: New RSFLF Challenge. :D - Veggie - 09-10-2022

Haven't done too well this week although I have managed to cut down some more plum trees in Strips 2 and 3. The weather hasn't helped with my plans.....but, tomorrow is another day and time for the last Strip, on the south side. Not looking forward to it as there are lots of brambles along the fence.
I'll be sowing Winter radish on Monday, Oriental Veg on Tuesday, Broad beans on Wednesday and, maybe, caulis on Thursday. Friday's Flowers & herbs will start with the letters S-Z. That's the Plan anyway. Big Grin

Thanks, SC. I'm determined to grow Sweet peas this year - or should I say, next year?

RE: New RSFLF Challenge. :D - Veggie - 10-10-2022

Day 1 of work on the South Strip, No, 4. It is working, I can see the difference across the garden on the strip I've been working on.
Moved my rubber mat across the Big veg bed to smother another strip of weeds. Pulled out the dead weeds that were under the mat and sowed some Milan Purple Top turnips. Radishes sown a couple of weeks ago have germinated.
Found a carrot and some radishes that have self-seeded in the bed. Plenty more radishes, Red Russian kale and Landcress to pick soon.

Feeling excited - I've finished the first 4 week cycle Big Grin Tomorrow, I return to the North Strip, sow some roots and start all over again.

RE: New RSFLF Challenge. :D - Veggie - 26-02-2023

After a couple of months trying to understand Lunar gardening, I'm going back to my tried, tested and incredibly sensible RSFLF, including sowing and harvesting the same day and the 4 Bed Strip System. (New readers, all will become clear over time. If not, it really doesn't matter).

I've written a 4 week sowing plan on a piece of card and its all I need to refer to as it will be the same throughout the year, repeated 13 times.
Tomorrow, sow carrots and radishes, find some roots in the garden to eat and work on Strip 1 (the north side).

Feeling excited again. Big Grin

Nice to see you’re back to your good old none complicated (in your head  Wink ) ways. I am starting to understand it after about 5 years   Blush , always been a bit slow    Big Grin .
Did you sow sweet peas?
