Don't know whether it was an 'end of line' or not as they had long dates still on them?(16-04-2024, 09:58 AM)Vinny Wrote: Well I had my lambs liver last night after a trip to Morries. I hit lucky and their was loads of ribeye, rump and sirloin steaks at £2.00 each.Naturally I 'filled my boots'with them and have a choice for Ron. Thank goodness I have a bit of room left in the freezer after slinging out some of last years veggies. They had the £2 steaks in Morries today. They didn't seem to be promoted at all, just on a shelf in the fridge with a little sticker on the shelf. Easy to miss! I thought of you, Vinny but didn't buy you any. Yesterdy I had BBB & E and will probably have some 25% fat beef mince today which is also a cheap new line in Morries! I have loads of little bottles of hot sauces I got for Christmas and I am gradually working my way through them. Its a bit like Russian roullette, but hey ho! RE: 2024 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 17-04-2024 ..................Change of plan after a visit to Aldi. 30% reduced smoked salmon was partenered with scrambled eggs and a wee bit of pickled red cabbage for lunch. I'm full at the mo but will probably have summat later, yet to be decided? RE: 2024 - Tonight's recipe - Small chilli - 17-04-2024 Bangers and mash with peas & gravy. Sort of Bolognese sauce (Vegan mince, tinned tomatoes, mushrooms) with mashed potato and tenderstem broccoli. Custard doughnut. All FREE RE: 2024 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 18-04-2024 £2.00 rump steak and YS Cod fillet for lunch and bacon & eggs for supper. RE: 2024 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 19-04-2024 For lunch I fried up some 25% fat beef mince and scrambled a couple of eggs into it after it had browned up a bit. I don't know why but I had a hankering for some boiled swede, mashed with loads of butter and white pepper to go with it? The two together resembled in looks and taste the 'Haggis & Neeps' associated with Burns night and were tasty! It will be interesting to see how my stomach reacts to the swede after not eating any veg for about 8 months? RE: 2024 - Tonight's recipe - Small chilli - 19-04-2024 Last night was crumpets. Tonight is fridge emptying night. I’m having the last of bangs & mash Bob’s having chilli and rice RE: 2024 - Tonight's recipe - Admin - 19-04-2024 Jacket spuds with tuna and onion, glad I don't live close Vinny!! |
