RE: 2026 - Today's Recipe - Vinny - 18-03-2026 I know I have a peculiar way of eating but when cooking for myself I can do things the way I like them. Today I had steak n eggs with the fried eggs, fried in lard on a very low heat, in a cast iron skillet, until the white is fully cooked and the yolk is still runny. I eat my fried eggs first with smoked salt, pepper and tiny sprinkling of chilli flakes. I then have the steak, on the same plate witjh horseradish salt and pepper.. I cooked off two rump steaks together and will have the second steak cold for ron with maybe some cheese? RE: 2026 - Today's Recipe - Veggie - 18-03-2026 Nothing peculiar about the way you cook fried eggs - I cook them the same way but with oil. not lard obviously!. I have a one egg-size irob skillet. a 2 egg size one and an omelette size one (and I have 2 of each - bought for almost nothing in a cheap shop back in the 70s). I've always been mean.

Raw yolks are good for you but raw whites (apart from being didtasteful) are actually bad for you, but cooked, are pure protein. Lard I find gives the 'cleaner' taste! ![]() PS I had better make that 60 years as I didn't start cooking breakfasts until I was 12 years old, when I arrived back home starving after my morning paper round and then had a canny hike to school after lighting coal fire and eating brekkie!
